LAUGHING APPLE FARM

We (Brian Swanson and Mary Laucks) have owned our farm since 1997. We sell apple juice, berries, vegetables, honey, hay and firewood (see other produce for prices and availablity). We follow the Canadian Organic Standards and so we do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers on our farm. We believe that by growing a diversity of crops and leaving some areas forested and uncultivated we will better preseve the health of our crops, wild habitat for other plants and animals, and views of open rural land for the community.

Since we own agricultural land, we feel that we have a responsibility to produce food for the community. We believe that locally organically grown food is best for the community for many reasons: for improving and sustaining the health of the community, for the care of the environment that such production requires, for the reduction of the reliance on oil that food grown locally can mean, and for the sense of community the production of food engenders. We believe that we have a responsibility to produce the best quality produce that we can and to continually try to do better.
